Another issue is on the Continentals the oil door is in the high pressure
upper cowl area, but on the Lycomings it's behind the baffles. My original
latch mechanism was a single latch in the center. It fit perfectly on the
ground but when the cowl was pressurized in flight, the oil
door twisted and created a large leak in the upper cowl. That's why I
replaced it with a full-length hinge to keep the door closed tight.

PS Maybe there's a way to install an auto power door lock mechanism,
"chirp-chirp" and the oil door opens! (I guess you'd need a horn
too)
