I operate an auto repair shop and have been using water base paint for two years due to government requirements.  We have more paint problems with water base paint than we ever had with solvent base . I am going to paint my Evolution with solvent base paint. Its also legal because aircraft are under different rules. Maybe that's because water base won't stay on at high speed. I don't want to take a chance.

It's crunch time for choosing a base coat/clear coat system for my 360. Primers used so far are UV Smooth Prime followed by PPG DP and K-36. I'd like to at least consider a water based system. Anyone here have personal experience with water based paint? Pros, cons, differences? Any feedback would be most helpful.

Thanks,
