Unfortunately, body language is not transferable
via email….makes for wild interpretation when you can’t see faces…it is amazing
how much a face communicates…

Subject: [LML] Advice and Caution
<<So, despite the seemingly
intentional sharp edges of some of the comments you’ve gotten, I hope you are
able to round the corners a bit, so to speak, and view them as encouraging
words of caution. Speaking for myself, I hope someday to benefit in one way or
another from your continued experimentation, I just want you to hold safety as
your paramount concern while doing so.>>
My wife is continually amazed at my friends
and acquaintances in the aviation-as-a-hobby field. While not necessarily
diplomatic or politically correct, she says they are some of the best people
she's ever met. In my opinion, everyone on this list falls into that
category, whether they come across as arrogant in their emails or not. I
don't think anyone in aviation tells me I'm making a mistake because they want
to hurt me -- I think they do it because they want to help me. Even if
their delivery may be a little harsh.
