These are not the troublesome Lithium Ion type.  They are a newer version Lithium Iron.  They have different cell voltage than Ion’s and are not so sensitive to how they are charged and discharged.  A Lithium Ion will be ruined it completely discharged but the Li Fe battery will not.  Great battery technology is on the way.  I am going to try one.

Only satisfactory use with cell phones, however I have heard that air freight companies are refusing to transport lithium ion batteries, because they have a nasty habit if catching on fire from overheating.  Nevertheless, some new electric cars are using them.  Maybe they are desperate.  Be careful!

Subject: [LML] Lithium Batteries

As I look for a replacement for my BC100-1 (ODYSSEY PC925) battery, I ran across (suggested by Wolfgang) the following batteries.

At only 2.5 lbs (compared to 25 lbs) and a reasonable $181 price these batteries appear to be a real breakthrough.

Does anyone have any practical experience with the lithium batteries?
