 >>>=20  I no longer = would=20 recommend Ron to anyone. My engine was well built, but, for what ever = reason,=20 Ron seems to have lost his way.  =20 <<<

My experience with = Performance was=20 mixed.

The=20 good:

1.) contact with sales = (Stuart) was=20 pleasant and prompt before the sale.

2.) the price was quite = competitive.

3.) the sales contract = was clear=20 and complete.

4.) the engine arrived = in good=20 condition

5.) at 300 hrs the = engine is=20 running smooth and never = needed GAMIjectors

6.) refund sent for the = returned=20 A/C bracket (see #3 below)

7.) agreed to work on = the engine at=20 no charge (see #4 below)

8.) repaired and = return-shipped a=20 cylinder at no charge (see #5 below)

The=20 bad:

1.) the turbo oil sump = was not=20 installed and had to be shipped later.

2.) 2 psi oil = pressure traced=20 to an installed bent pressure valve.

3.) jury-rigged bracket = for the A/C=20 was not usuable.

4.) starter adapter=20 leakage required the engine (plane attached) to be returned=20 for work (see #3 below).

5.) lost an exhaust = valve seat at=20 200 hrs.

The=20 ugly:

1.) as problems arose = Performance=20 stopped returning phone calls and e-mails. =

2.) engine shipped 5 = months=20 late.

3.) I was told the = engine was=20 crated but would not ship until I wired the final payment to their = bank.  I=20 did so, and the engine still did not ship.  A fellow builder = visited=20 Performance 3 weeks later and discovered that my engine was still in the = building process (where it remained for months more).=20

4.) while doing = maintenance on the=20 engine Performance caused a fire that burned the air conditioner = and into=20 the aft bulkhead, smoke-damaged the interior, and required the = avionics be=20 RTV for inspection and repair. This $30k insurance claim caused = a rate=20 increase.

So in=20 summary although the engine seems to be fine I would not again = go=20 through the irritation.
