I remember what Burt Rutan said about equipment in aircraft: "If it is not necessary, throw it up in the air. If it comes down, it is to heavy." The only thing that I want 2 or more of in my plane are fuel tanks and gallons of gas.

I do always carry a handheld GPS, a handheld VHF/Com and a flashlight.

When I fly steady at 70 kts with 20° of flap, I have an up angle of 10°. This is really high. I will never slow the plane down to this speed on approach with or without gauges.

A few months ago I took off and noticed that my static port was plugged. I came around, landed and cleared the port.

I think that some of us may need to learn or relearn how to fly or at least practice more slow speed flying.
