Hi Adam,

My sparkplug wires did the same thing.  I think it's a surface phenomenon, based on the rubber they used in the Adel clamp.  Klaus included white rubber Adel clamps with the electronic ignition system and I wish I'd used those everywhere.

Subject: [LML] Tygon tubing discoloration

My Legacy brake lines use the standard poly-flo tubing inside yellow Tygon tubing for protection. I just noticed that the Tygon has turned black where it comes in contact with the Adel clamps. This photo shows where the Tygon was zip-tied to the fuel return line in the wing stub. It appears that some sort of chemical reaction occurred with the rubber in the Adel clamp. I installed the brake lines in 2005 (ouch!). The plane has not flown yet.

Has anyone ever seen this before? Is it serious?

Thanks,

Adam Molny
