I had a sensor failure in one speed brake and it caused the retraction motor to run with the master switch on. It sounded like a fuel pump in the wing was running but I know there isn't one there.
I diagnosed the failure, emailed support at PreciseFlight and, to my great pleasure, was afforded the option to upgrade for a lot of money or another cheaper option to solve my problem for $50 and shipping. I don't think I could buy a sensor for that so I'm pleased with the response. The call came first thing Monday morning and the part is on the way. Bravo PreciseFlight for providing those varied options and having spares for these older speed brakes. I am told the new ones use mechanical limit switches and the older style use various types of proximity switches which have been discontinued. My proximity switch failed in the closed (ON) position.
