Hi Craig,
Through Flight Resource Inc. in Bloomer, WI I bought a 3-blade MT CS electric, MTV-18C/152/105 60" diameter for my Lyc. IO320B. They made the arrangements with MT, and I had it shipped directly to me, avoiding all customs problems, re-shipping, etc., at almost the same total cost. I installed it myself, and had ready telephone assistance with Flight Resource's folks. The prop works fine. I had two problems, Lycoming 320B comes with two different sizes of crank flange bolts, and I didn;t realize that... so of course I got the wrong ones, and had to retap the flange threads. Got free and helpful assist with required drills and taps from MT's people in FL The other is that the electric pitch change is a ittle slow, and the plane accellerates quickly, and the automatic prop pitch isn't toggled down faster than the airload reduces... so I had to adjust the static rpm limit switch to a lower static max rpm... about 2650...easy to do. Still watch it, and may reset it even lower, as the rpm ome up to 2700 quickly on T/O anyway. If the RPM goes above 3000 the brushes may lift off the armature in the pitch motor, and when I reduce throttle MP to 2700 I have to turn off the automatic pitch control system for a few seconds to let it then reboot, and ti works normally then. Hope this is useful info. Terrence L235/320 N211AL Posted for "Craig Schulze" < craig@skybolt.net>: Hi
Guys, Does anyone have any feedback on different props for the Lancair 320/360? Has anyone tried a Hartzel
Scimitar? MT? Any performance differences over the standard Hartzel 2 blade? Thank
you, Craig Schulze Lancair 320
