Marv, do you have a link to this thing? ON my airplane the gear doors as originally
installed would bang around in flight. Problem solved by stronger spring and tape around the seal. No
cables. Colyn [Hi Colyn, No link, just information from a well-respected Lancairian who is using them and
suggested their use on another project. I'm just trying to find out where and when they came from. Thanks for the
info. <Marv> ]

Solesbee" <Wendell@solesbeeauto.com>: On my IV-P I use on spring at the rear of the cear door and one at the
front and have never had a problem. No cables. Wendell Solesbee N4LK [Thanks for the
prompt reply, Wendell... you pretty much confirmed what I thought. I'm still curious about where this cable operated assist came from.

Subject: [LML] LIV gear door closer? Is the use of a cable-assisted closing
mechanism something standard on the main gear doors of LIVs now? I thought the beefed up springs (now two, was one in
the early days, if memory serves) took care of most of the gear door problems. Is the mechanical cable actuator an option from
Lancair or an after-market add-on from a third party? Any answers will be appreciated.
