X-Mailing-List: lancair.list@olsusa.com Mime-Version: 1.0 <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<--->>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> << Lancair Builders' Mail List >> <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<--->>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> >> Ed , if you address your NEEDS of safety, reliability, availability of parts and service,(remember you didn't build it so you legally can't repair it)plus the ability to sell it quicklyand without taking a loss when your Sexy, Speedy, Sporty, and Aerobatic ride is ready,(that project in your garage does address your WANTS, doesn't it?) You will buy the Cessna or the Beech. While the Grumman is by far the most fun of the three choices, it is saddled with that "unrecoverable spin" problem. This makes it more of a boutique appeal product, and less easily sellable. The Beech is HUGE inside[good}, and as slow as the Cessna{not great}, but the parts are more expensive, and the landing characteristics dictate you load the plane carefully ( put a HEAVY tool kit AFT to avoid running out of elevator during the landing flare). The Cessna will always be plain vanilla and is the most easily sold. Get a prepurchase inspection, watch for corrosion and A/D compliance and the Cessna will fly you at the lowest true cost of the three. Be safe and regards to all..... Jeffrey B. Chipetine
