You think you found a problem, and then... Recall we found a sliver of metal near pins 9 and 10 in the Lightspeed connector. See the following from Klaus about the LSE pins. I guess the sliver of metal we found either did nothing (in which case there are many questions raised) or the sliver moved around a lot. I prefer that answer.
