As most of you know, I have been the general manager at Diemech Turbines for the last couple of years.  My turboprop learning curve has been pretty steep and I really enjoy my position.  After all, what could be better than working around airplanes and their engines at an airport 5+ days a week?

At any rate, as of 11/08 I found myself responsible for final testing of all our rebuilt engines.  Using the power graphs developed by Walter for each of their models, we document power levels attained during the final run tests.  Generally, we see our engines run ITTs 10-15% cooler than the maximums allowed, and our calculated power levels (based on normalized atmosphere) are typically 10-15% higher than the allowable minimums.  Since no two engines perform identically, the tested and graphed numbers allow us to assess each engine for applicability to its intended mission.  Every now and again we run across a jewel and this is one of those times.  We just finished the rebuild of an inventory engine that pretty much outperforms any that I've either tested personally, or documented the testing on prior to my taking over the testing process.  We haven't done the formal test run as yet due to a relocation (we vacated the 1360 Flightline address that had us in two small hangars one side of a large parking lot, and our turbine shop across the lot in a small unit at 1200 Flightline... we now have 8500sf of uninterrupted hangar space, new offices, a new machine shop, grind room, turbine shop, parts room, prop room, & display room, all under a single roof.  New address is 1200 Flightline Blvd Ste 1) so I'm not prepared to put forth the actual power report as yet.  However, based upon a number of runs that we've put on this engine testing FCUs, starter/generators, prop governors, etc, I can say without reservation that this is probably the nicest M601D I've seen emerge from Diemech.  This is a low time engine (1500 hours TTSN) with a 1500 hour TBO, and 4500 hours of life left in the turbines... a real sweetheart.  I knew the first time it ran that it was destined to power a LIVP propjet.

That being said, if anyone is interested in doing a conversion, this is the engine for the job.  We're offering it at $57,800 and will knock 10% off the sale price for the buyer who says he heard about it on the LML.  We would also be willing to deal on our complete conversion kit (complete FWF, aux tanks, pressurization package, pumps, header tank, oil cooler system, etc, etc) with the buyer of this engine.   If you're interested please drop me an email (respond here if you like, I'll hijack the message before it gets to the LML) or give me a call anytime at 386-295-9279 or 239-357-4405.  If you want to fly higher and faster than John Cook, (look at N213JC on FlightAware) then this is the package for you.  I look forward to your replies.
