We use a golf cart with a trailer hitch ball on the front and a Brackett tow bar. Works great.
See: http://w1.lancair.net/pix/jschroeder-fuselage1 for more details. The tow bar has to be slightly modified to allow the scissors mechanism to clear the nose of the pant.
