EGTs show an increase in temperature to a peak and then start
to decline as the leaning continues. Note the temp and power curves
on the attached chart.

what do the egt's and cht's do as you approach peak from the rich
side?
how doyou know you didn't go through peak already?
ignition timing could also be a factor.
