One thing I just recalled doing:  The question at at hand was how to tell if the air flow into the injector vents is enough to help with LOP operation (it improves the atomization).  One experiment I did was to do a "lean sweep" at full throttle (non-turbocharged) and record the data and note when the engine starts to run rough.  Then I pulled the throttle back just enough to drop the manifold pressure by about 1 inch and repeat the test.  The idea is that this increases the pressure drop across the injector by 1 inch and if there was an atomization problem before this should fix it.  My results were not entirely conclusive, but generally the engine would run further LOP before running rough.
