Had the latch open on climb out once. I have a strap to limit canopy travel when open so I just pulled the strap and fastened the latch. As mentioned below, increased noise but no adverse effect on flight.
Nothing. A little louder. A little more air through the cabin. Done it too many times to admit, probably because I don’t consider a serious item. I often taxi with the canopy open until the last minute. Sometimes forget to latch it. I wait until the Autopilot is on before messing with it. Sometimes it can be difficult to close in-flight.
What would happen if one takes off without latching the canopy in a Lancair 360. Any personal experiences out there?
