I put a little cupboard handle on mine ,makes it easy . On climbout before I'm going too fast I just pull down and lock it . nuttin to it.

Had the latch open on climb out once. I have a strap to limit canopy travel when open so I just pulled the strap and fastened the latch. As mentioned below, increased noise but no adverse effect on flight.

What would happen if one takes off without latching the canopy in a Lancair 360.  Any personal experiences out there?
