Yes,
Front hinged canopies that are not latched raise
about 1.5 to 2 inches from the latched position and stay there. No
problem. The safest fix is to go around the pattern land, latch the canopy
and take off. The alternate is to depart the airport, level off, set the
autopilot and use both hands to pull the canopy down and latch the canopy.
