hello jeff
so far the cheapest I have seen will be 8 bucks for the stud and 10 bucks for the fasteners 2-3 size
so it will come to 18x76 1360 for the cowling
based on my experience on the cowling on my IV i think its a wise investment
i have no chaffing i did not reinforce the glass (I have the old fashion glass cowling)  and was afraid  that the vibration will eat up the glass and it has not happened after more than 400 hrs
if interested will call the shop and try to get a bulk price for both of us
let me know
i am going to use them
andres

by the wat we have been delayed due to engine mount changes and associated baffling changes so my engine QEC is being dismantled to replace the engine mount and I am not sure that the new changes in the prototype were sufficient.

Andre,

I have not looked for how much these cost but in looking at Andy Cruce's airplane I believe we need about 76 fasteners each for our Evolution.

Hi Bruce,

I found this link.  It is the PDF of the catalog containing the fastners.  I’m looking at page 19.  Doesn’t show how they work per se, but I think the cut away drawing help.

I'm interested.  How much?  How do I get in contact with you, Andres?

i have gotten a quote for the fasteners and the price is more reasonable for a group of 100 units

the most common sizes are 1820-2 and 1820-3 for the male parts and 1810 for the receptacle

anyone interested let me know and i will order them

a typical IV-P cowling requires about 30 of them around the firewall and at the bottom around the nose gear area. quick to remove and lasts a long time f-16 hardware quality mine are still working after 4-5 years and never had to replace a receptacle and ocasionally the studs will bend.
