Fred and others who are considering legal action against
Performance Engines. I would like to be included in discussions to hire
an attorney. My request for reimbursement was ignored along with my many,
many phone calls and e-mails to Ron Monson when I was trying to solve my
problem. It cost me $$ and a lot of time to diagnose and repair my nearly
new engine. At about 40 hours it was blowing enough oil out the breather
and on the belly in a single trip around the pattern that it was dripping off a
2' wide, 8' long, thick coat running aft. It took over a month to
determine the engine had ring flutter due to wear of every compression ring and
all the top piston ring lands. In the diagnosis process many flights were
made because it would only blow oil in flight. It was no fun wondering if
the engine would blow up or not.
