Just got a quote from Alcoa (the owners of Fairchild Fasteners).  You don’t want to see it.

We definitely need to do a group purchase.

BTW:  Regarding cowling fasteners….why the 1820-2 stud nuts for the cowling?   The grip range on those seems to be between .251 and .343.  If guys are using the -2’s it would mean the cowling surfaces mated together are ¼ thick or greater.  Do they really get that thick after paint?  From my measurements of my cowl, the -1’s are in the right range.  Am I missing something?

Thanks

Kevin

Okayyyy....

Thanks to Greyhawk and Brent Regan for the education on Livelock fasteners.  Now how do we buy these???

I have not bought cowl fasteners yet.  I need about 45 for my 360.  As I recall, Skybolts would cost about $500.  How much for Livelocks?  About $700?  Is Andre still putting together a mass order?  What if finances force us to wait six months -- how do we buy them then?

p.s.  If you can't already tell, Scott and Brent were very persuasive...
