is that $7200 total premium for how much hull coverage? or a $7200 increase in premium to something north of a $14,000 premiem? Buying insurance these days is like purchasing an airline ticket.

If you know Charlie its not "Same song, second verse."
Hes only out to inject some reason in this whole fiasco
My local CFI's admit the know nothing about a Lancair's nuances.
I've already signed on with the new company with my AIG app and recurrent
training (yes, HPAT) documentation.$7200 (10% increase)for $1M smooth but
I'm no low time pilot.

Same song second verse.

Now instead of Lancair controlling who can do the training, we will have
Charlie Kohler doing it. That means that the flight instructors he picks
and gets "regionally set" can charge exorbitant fees just like the situation
now.
The FAA approves flight instructors. What is wrong with that? Part of the
training the FAA has for flight instructor qualification is developing a
training syllabus. Is Charlie that much better at that effort?
This whole issue is nuts.

Today I received word that we now have a new company on board writing
policies at the appx' the same rates AIG had a year ago and with several
extra large benefits. The deductibles are $250 not in motion/$2500 in
motion. Training will be through independent flight instructors that are
approved by the underwriters. They have asked me to help in that selection
and set the training syllabus.
I have contacted several instructors around the country and hopefully we can
get this regionally set so that travel/weather and other concerns will be
easier to manage.
Additionally, A Lancair Company inspection will not be required for initial
or pre-purchase. Again, They will have individual Lancair builder/FAA
maintenance folks located around the country to help with this.

I'm signing up today.

Charlie K.
