I went through the same evolution (can I use that word without trade mark infringement?) with my engine.  It seemed to run fine on both but I had concerns and that limp-home ability of one mag is very comforting.  I kept the second as a spare but would be willing to pull it off the shelf if you get more than one interested party, or someone wants two.

For Sale - one Lightspeed Plasma III ignition system.  This was installed on my TSIO 550 from Performance Engines.  It came with two of these.  I replaced one of them with a magneto system to get the best of both ignition systems and to avoid the risk of loss of engine power if electrical power or signal should be lost in the ignition sequence.
Now I'm set up with one Lightspeed and one mag.  The engine was run in for about 1.5 hours with both Lightspeeds and then the alteration was accomplished.  Please contact me directly if interested.
