If you can find a sailboat rigging shop you might pay them to make a house call. It is very important to make the crimps correctly and to verify them with a gauge whatever tool you use. The Aircraft Spruce tool is probably OK for rudder pedals if you are careful. I would use a Swaged fitting for Flying wires and other high stress applications.
