I believe the way to look at the 320 and 360s for insurance is that it will cost $10,000 extra for the first year. $2,500 x 2 for the pilot and to train an instructor pilot at HPAT. 50 x $30 = $1,500 for an instrument rating with the instructor pilot. Finally an additional $2,500 for the first years insurance. Extra flying $1,000. This totals $5,000 + $1,500 + $2,500 +$1,000 = $10,000. By the end of the first year you will have over 50 hours in type and an instrument rating which is an absolute must for our aircraft. At the end of the first year, the $10,000 should go away and you will only be subject to the usual costs.
