I Now own the aforementioned Lancair 133TB 235 with 0290 . I
average 170Kts down low and 180 kts above 6000 msl .It is a very capable
airplane. I owned and flew a 360 for many years and although it climbed much better
.The overall performance was not that much better. The fuel burn is great as
well. 7.5 per hr at altitude. The smaller overall airframe is tight for our
larger flying brothers( over six ft) but for the average person it is plenty of
room. I find it performs great with two 200 lb people in it .

Subject: [LML] Re: FW: [Lancair] Underpowered?
My Lancair 235 powered by a Lycoming 0290-D2 with 8.5 to
1 compression and a MT electric 3 bladed prop flew great. The
performance was very much like a Lancair 320 I once flew a friends
Lancair 235 with a Lycoming 0235 engine and a fixed prop and found it to be
quite marginal.

Seems like lancairs usually will be powered by a 320 or 360 or better.
Does a 235/290 have enough power to fly pilot and passenger effectively.
Thanks,
Mike
