For Andres:
I agree with Bob Pastusek's thoughts on this topic; i.e. rebuilding the doors to use the thicker slider material.
I experienced problems with the gear hanging up on the door, right after I shimmed the wheels to correct the alignment. In addition to the thicker slider, I molded in a piece of 3/8ths aluminum tubing shaped as an "L" in each door, hoping to prevent the door flexing in flight. Finally, I had to hinge the rear of both doors to permit the doors to open far enough so that the gear wouldnt hang up on the door during retraction.
From the many retraction tests I ran, I concluded that the gear sequence during retraction is not always the same; that it depends on several variables. That was the main reason that I added the hinged area to the rear of both doors.
Finally, I have found that, on takeoff, waiting to retract the flaps untill I hear the gear doors slam shut, seems to be beneficial.
