I agree with Bob Pastusek's thoughts on this topic; = i.e. rebuilding the doors to use the thicker slider material.

I = experienced problems with the gear hanging up on the door, right after I sh= immed the wheels to correct the alignment.  In addition to the thicker= slider, I molded in a piece of 3/8ths aluminum tubing shaped as an "L" in = each door, hoping to prevent the door flexing in flight.  Finally, I h= ad to hinge the rear of both doors to permit the doors to open far enough s= o that the gear wouldnt hang up on the door during retraction.

F= rom the many retraction tests I ran, I concluded that the gear sequence dur= ing retraction is not always the same;  that it depends on several var= iables.  That was the main reason that I added the hinged area to the = rear of both doors.

Finally, I have found that, on takeoff, wait= ing to retract the flaps untill I hear the gear doors slam shut, seems to b= e beneficial.
