Guys & Gals, The following is none of my business and is just my opinion: If folks recognize this trim wheel to be of value, then it is worth some money that Dick's widow ought to have claim on. =20 It is a nice gesture to give them to the community, but I think it would be an even nicer gesture to not put them in the public domain and/or have the community to pony up and pay her what one would have to pay to have a design like this done, built and tested. Discourage her from giving them up for free. =20 When good folks serve us with their hard earned talent, I think it behooves us to serve them back, especially in a case like this. As many of you know Dick was killed in a crash back in the late 90's. Dick and another mutual friend Bill Daffron engineered an improved elevator trim wheel system which many of you are using and which some have expressed interest in installing. =20 =20 As you can see from message below, Dick's widow kept the original drawings and will make them available to the community, I will scan and upload these as soon as possible- hopefully sometime next week.=20 =20 She also has some parts and pieces (no inventory yet) from the original production runs. Dave Wyman was involved in the original design and fabrication and has offered to help put another production run together. No costs yet but assuming the costs are reasonable, how many builders would be interested in purchasing a Reichel complete system? =20 I include myself in the number. Sick of the original trim system. =20 Regards, =20 Wayne Bailey 10RD=20 =20 Wayne =20 Hey, On Thursday, Dick's widow Linda is going to give me the drawings and a bunch of bits and pieces, for dfistribution to the needy. She really is financially strapped, so whatever we can sell should be sold for her. =20 I know of a talented guy (a former employee of mine) with a full machine shop in his garage, who might want to produce a batch if they were presold, and maybe give a cut to Linda, etc. Maybe you could survey the needy guys out there in cyber-land and see how we can get 'em flying? =20 Our bird is down with a burned-out flap motor. =20 Hi to Patty =20 =20 Hi Dave, =20 Just fly to OXR/CMA with Patty today. Didn't land, just overflew. Had to get back. Poor vis. =20 Love to see you and Dianne sometime soon. Been TOO long. =20 Re trim wheel - 320/360 is out of production. Doubt if there is market in Lancair corporate for resale. It would be nice to put the drawings into Lancair community for use as needed by pilots. Reduce efforts and errors on reverse engineer. Make community safer.=20 =20 If drawings are avail, I would be happy to scan and upload to the list =20 If any parts are avail, I am sure there would be a market. I would also be happy to publish that to the list - suspect they would sell immediately.=20 =20 Let me know. =20 =20 Love to you both. =20 Wayne, Patty, and Lucy =20 =20 PS Just sell-e-brated 4th wedding anniversary!!!! I will be in Santa Barbara on Dec. 4th, Thursday. I will bring them with me. As a matter of fact I have often thought of selling the design to Lancair. Email me about what you would like me to do.
