Tim,
I asked the original question because of cost and long term leaded fuel availability. In my case the engine was built by Aerosport Power specifically to be auto gas compatible, including a lower compression ratio. Based on a couple of inputs I do not see any problem with the Jeffco 9700 fuel tank sealer, and it is simple to change to suitable fuel hoses. I tried to get data from Hysol, but without success; does anyone have a suitable contact point for them?
There are a couple of sloshing sealers available that are designed to be resistant to both auto gas and ethanol. I know of at least one 360 owner who used them successfully to deal with a minor fuel leak. However I have also heard that they can cause long term problems by flaking off, so I would be hesitant to use them.
Based on Bill Harrrelson's experience, I think that I was probably worrying about nothing.

There is probably more to consider than Hysol only.
- Fuel tank sealer
- Jeffco epoxy resin (in my case used as tank sealer)
- Fuel hoses
- Fuel pump diaphragms
- Carbutator gaskets
- Carburator diaphragms (Ellison TBI in my case)
Some of the above is surely non-issues or easy fixes, but with Avgas running at $ 11.50/gal and Mogas at $ 5.50/gal ( a pure giveaway! ), I certainly would be interested in any experienced opinion on the issue!
Has anyone considered flushing the tanks with a second sealer, that tolerates ethanol? Does this even exist?
