I have this setup on a Legacy with IO 550, and although not flying, I know of 2 other installations where the problem has surfaced. The issue seems to be when applying power as with a go around the RPM doesn't get to max only 2300-2500. Any solutions, thoughts - other than getting a Hartzell.
