X-Mailing-List: lancair.list@olsusa.com Mime-Version: 1.0 <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<--->>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> << Lancair Builders' Mail List >> <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<--->>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> >> Greetings, I would like to hear how all of you with a 320 installed handled oil cooling. The 360 generates more heat and seems to require a NACA scoop on the cowl to feed the oil cooler. Some folks use a separate "shark gill" exit and others just dump into the rear of the cowling area. How about the 320s? The manual shows installing the cooler on the rear of the pressure plenum; thereby robbing some of the air destined for the cylinders. Is this truly okay for the 320? Should I install a NACA scoop on the cowl? If I do, should I also provide a separate hot air exit on the outside of the cowl? BTW, I will be operating out of Colorado (5,000 MSL). What does your experience show?
