Randy Snarr,
In my opinion, modification to the larger horizontal stabilizer is
definitely NOT necessary as attested by the many LNC2's flying with the
small tail. Flying with the small tail takes some getting used to and you
may need a little more skill in landing but its really not bad. Also, are
you aware of the potential flutter problem with the large tail mod? I think
Marv still has that info on his site.
Scott Dahlgren,
The solenoid that draws 7 amps from a 14V source is NOT a master solenoid
(continuous duty) it is probably a starter solenoid. The resistance of the
coil on your master relay should be about 20 ohms and it should draw less
than one amp. The resistance of the coil on your starter relay
(intermittent duty relay) should be in the range of the 3 to 4 ohms range
and will draw 4 to 5 amps. or more, depending on the manufacturer.
Bob Grossman,
I guess all clear minds think alike. I agree with you on both your points.
(Excessive worry about sparks and torque wrenches)
