Exhaust and seatbelts are being installed this week. Plane is complete. I was told by the insurance carrier that discounts are offered for TAA (Technologically Advanced Aircraft). This was a new term for me. I only have 450 hrs with about 50 in HP, and 100 in complex. So as you might have guessed my insurance quotes are not cheap. To qualify for the TAA discount I have to install an auto pilot and a weather monitoring system. I have installed a Garmin 430W and a MP-50 Engine analyzer which covers the GPS and fuel monitoring system requirements. I am not sure that I would recoup the cost of a storm scope in the next 5 years, but I am interested in installing an auto pilot. I have heard a lot about the fact that the 360s are so sensitive to control input that autopilots are sometimes a liability more than an asset. I am looking at the Trio and the Tru Trak. And am not quite sure if I also need altitude hold. I have been told my Garmin 430 will take these and more. Any comparisons on performance of the Tru Trak v Trio?
