Don and Rob -
Its not so simple as it was back in 1989. The Tygon tubing that
Lancair supplied then was for food systems. If you still have a piece,
check the code printed on the tube. Since then Tygon has become the
purveyor of many types of tubes - Look at this web site for fuel tubing:
Don is certainly right about what Lancair distributed with its kits and
using that tubing should certainly be avoided. However, if I were uh,
forced to use such lines today, I would choose something like those fuel lines
referenced at the Tygon web site. I became fearful of the
original lines in 1991 and used Teflon with SS braid for all engine fluid
lines, wherever they travel in the aircraft - I haven't had to change any
of them in the 12 years I have been flying.

Rob Wolf,
Beware of Tygon fuel lines, in a couple of years in
100LL, Tygon becomes hard and shrinks a bit, not a good thing
especially in tight bends etc.. Polyurathane is a better handler of
100LL and remains in good shape over the 5 years life span that I
use. Don Skeele A&P

Lycoming's
recent announcement that they will be certifying the standard compression
O-360 and IO-360 for auto fuel has me wondering about the other components
in my fuel system, especially since most auto gas these days contains
alcohol. These are the components that I'd like to know are compatible
with auto gas. If you can shed any light on this, I'd like to
know.
I am not intending to revive the Avgas-vs-autogas debate.
I am merely trying to make sure that I am not making my airplane incapable
of using auto gas.
Jeffco fuel tank sealer Facet fuel
pump Tygon fuel lines Aeroquip 601/AE701 fuel line Rubber O-rings
in gas caps purchased from Lancair Dukes fuel pump Andair
gascolator O-rings used on fuel pump fittings
I think that's the
complete list, other than engine components which would be addressed by
Lycoming.
