I removed the stock seal retainers and used the bracket and have had no problem. I also had to work through the issues with the baffling. I ended up drilling holes slightly larger than the stand-offs in the baffling so the standoff would bear directly on the mounting plate. I had to us a few thin washers to get the proper clearance between the magnet and the Hall switches. Make sure you check the clearance with the crank pushed in the pulled out.
