I had gone over Van's test data with their then Chief Engineer, Steve Smith which did show about an inch or so improvement in MP with the K & N Filter in place vs MP without the filter installed. They reasoned that the filter resulted in a smoother transition as the air turned up in to the carb throat, in that the circular filter reduced the turbulance, and therefore the pressure loss. I had to lower the bottom half of the air scoop 5/8" to accomodate the larger Van Design..I cut the entire cowl off horizontally to add the 5/8" which gave a greater exit area for the induction cooling also, and no heating problems at any configueration. Does it work ? the A/C has won the Redmond Race for Modified 235's four of the last 5 years. gapdpske@teleport.COM >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> LML website: http://www.olsusa.com/Users/Mkaye/maillist.html Builders' Bookstore: http://www.buildersbooks.com/lancair Please send your photos and drawings to marvkaye@olsusa.com. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
