Another Lancair owner at my airport had the "luxury" of having two doors to
his ES. One was defective and he was sent a new one by Lancair. He
took that opportunity to test the small plastic handled escape tool he'd gotten
as a gift from his wife. It didn't touch the window in the ES door.
He ended up buying a ball pein hammer and grinding the rounded end to a
point. That "weapon" worked very well. He carries his custom hammer
in his plane. I think the pressurized aircraft have thicker windows than
the ES so even the big hammer might have trouble cracking out a window.
