This is another reminder for the Sierra Nevada Lancair fly in at Jackson
Westover Field (o70 oscar seven zero). The fly in is Saturday, May 3, from
11:00 AM to 3:00 PM with lunch at noon.
The calm wind runway at Westover is 19. Use left hand traffic
for both runways. The AWOS is 121.125 and I can receive it from 50
miles out. Don't be surprised if there is a crosswind, usually out of the
west. If the weather is warm, density altitude could be over 2,000',
which might be an issue due to the 3,400' long runway. CTAF is
122.8.
Park near the picnic area, next to the CalFire S-2 air tankers, at the
northern end of the tiedowns between the two rows of T-hangars closest to the
runway. Lancair parking is shown in red on the following
drawing. Self-serve fuel is west of the runway, near the south end.
The airport office and bathrooms are in a small building between the gas pumps
and the flag poles, near transient parking. Monitor CTAF 122.8 after
landing for taxi instructions.
Here is an airport diagram. Lancair parking is in red, hangars are in
blue, and the picnic area is in orange. Hope to see you there!
