Subject: gear dump valve update

Friday I was back to Las Vegas on business.
I flew out early morning from Utah cruising at 12,500 for 1.5 hrs.
We were on the ground at 7:30 am local and the temp was around 45 degrees or so. We were back at the plane that same day at 5:30pm and the temps were around 75 degrees. The hydraulic system gauges showed 2000 psi on the gear down side and 1200 on the gear up side.(above the gear up switch limit) I did not expect to test my new 3 way gear dump valve so soon!

I opened up the valve and both pressures dropped to 0. Excellent! Gear operated with no issues after lift off. The same thing happened last year at the same airport under the same conditions and the gear would not retract.  Before the 3 way valve was installed, opening the valve would have equalized both sides at around 15-1600 opening the high side switch and causing the gear to not retract.
been there  done that on 3 occasions in 200 hours of flying.

I believe for me at least the problem has been resolved or at least I can resolve it by opening the my hydraulic pressure release valve.

FWIW...
