Thank you all for your constructive help with my queries on the above
subjects.  My fuel system has the two pumps in parallel with a selector for
"right" or "left" tank. I did this in case one of the pumps failed because
I can draw fuel from either wing with either pump.  This will not, however,
permit me to run both pumps at the same time, as Bill Rumburg suggests.  It
would help if someone could tell me how long it takes them to transfer 1 US
Gal from wing to header using only one pump.  To answer Byron's point I
have installed a float switch which gives me a red light "Header Full" so I
don't have to invest in a vibrator (!).  When combined with the "Header
Low" indication provided by the Vision Microsystems display I hope I shall
not run dry or overflow.  But it does seem that Byron is getting his fuel
to the header tank twice as quickly as me?

On the gas strut, I'm grateful for Bob and Ed's advice (thank you also Ed
for your offer of your old strut).  However,  The only way I will be able
to order the thing over here in the UK is to know what vehicle model and
year it was fitted to.  Our suppliers and parts numbering are different
over here but the cars are the same.  Does anyone know from which vehicle
the strut was derived?

Thanks again for all the useful help I continually get from LML and to Marv
for co-ordinating it.

Regards,

Michael
