The
North Perry airport in Hollywood, FL (HWO) is very friendly to GA.
There is also a considerable amount of homebuilt activity at the airport as
well. I was fortunate to conduct my Lancair flight training there from
another builder/pilot before my first flight in my Lancair in Sanford, FL.
The airspace is very complicated in that area of south Florida so either file
IFR or make sure you have a current VFR terminal area chart and understand the
airspace well. Please don't bring any of the cold weather with you
:-).
