For what it’s worth, I’m
planning on a selective mix of fuses and breakers as well. One additional
selective rational for breakers…
I’m planning on having a few items
that are always on when the master is on (a red anti-collision beacon, LED nav
lights, PFD, etc). Since the LED’s draw little power and last nearly
forever, the ability to turn them on/off isn’t worth the switch – simpler/safer
to just have them on all the time. Since, these items will not have a
traditional panel switch, I’m using a breaker for them so they “can”
be turned off (if necessary) or to reset (EFIS), without needing to pull a fuse.
Other non-essential items on fuses.
