There was a scuffing on the interior cylinder and obviously with this many hours the top seal was leaking fluid. The emergency gear pump worked during this whole period, sometimes hanging up with, I think, one of the check valves sticking. After rebuild and smoothing out the center bore, I am finding that the pump will not charge and wondering if others are having problems with their emergency gear pump. What have you elected to do to fix it? Door Seal: On my fifth door seal in 8 years and in each case the seal began leaking at the vulcanization point. Anyone else having this problem and are there any alternatives to the Lancair provided seal? From the increase of a bit over $200 per seal to the current $445, for a faulty item, it seems there should be a better alternative out there. The book still calls out 20 lbs of pressure for the door seal and after talking to Justin, he is recommending 12-14 lbs, which is where I currently have adjusted my 5th door seal.
