First and foremost, I sincerely? want to thank everyone for their MANY suggestions.? What a GREAT resource of talent and experience we have here on this forum. We did find that the cabin heat duct tubing had shifted to the point it was rubbing on the inside of the cowling.? We also had the prop dynamically balanced.? I thought the balance was "OK" before but the data readout showed it at .28 IPS before balance and .04 IPS after! The combination of these two things seems to be where the problem was because that speed related vibration is now gone!? Part of it went away by just shifting the ducting, and the rest of it cleared up with the prop balance. Thanks again for all the words of advice it is really appreciated. Hi All -

Just an update on my previous submitted vibration issue with the Legacy.

First and foremost, I sincerely  want to thank everyone for their MANY suggestions.  What a GREAT resource of talent and experience we have here on this forum.

We did find that the cabin heat duct tubing had shifted to the point it was rubbing on the inside of the cowling.  We also had the prop dynamically balanced.  I thought the balance was "OK" before but the data readout showed it at .28 IPS before balance and .04 IPS after!

The combination of these two things seems to be where the problem was because that speed related vibration is now gone!  Part of it went away by just shifting the ducting, and the rest of it cleared up with the prop balance.

Thanks again for all the words of advice it is really appreciated.

Best regards,

Erik Larson

P.S.  For anyone in the Southern California area considering Dynamic Prop Balancing - Jim Fackler Dynamics came HIGHLY recommended and deservedly so.  He has a mobile service and will come to you with 30 years of experience for $150 flat rate..... quite a deal!  (JFackler@earthlink.net)
