Thanks for all the
input on my ASI problem: sudden onset of erratic/low AS readings coupled with
erroneously low altimeter reading (in fact the indicated altitude would go DOWN
as I accelerated down the runway.
The diagnosis proved
to be a failed/broken static line tubing behind the panel where it came off one
of the instruments. Replaced the hose and all is now well. One more "experience"
memory to log away...
