Craig,
I had all the slip joints
leak on a TNIO-360 exhaust. Pulled it off, sent it back to Lancair and
they re-swaged them all. Also the exhaust guys up in MN or someplace
(think the actually make the exhaust for Lancair) that direction will re-swage
the slipjoints.
Obviously don't clamp a
joint that is suppose to slip, you'd be surprised at how much things need to
move when they expand and contract and I've heard of exhausts breaking just from
wrapping the slip joint and safety wiring the wrap too tight.
Alan
I have an exhaust leak on my TSIO 550 between the #6 and #4 exhaust
manifold slip joint. See attached photos.
I would like to
correct this. Other than fabricating a wedged gasket at the cylinder to
redirect the exhaust manifold, does anyone have a better idea?
Thank
you,
