I have heard tell that the flaps (on the LIVP) can accumulate rain water trapped, running back over the wing, slipping into the front edge aperatures for the control brackets, and then be vulnerable to freezing (at altitude), which could cause cracking from ice expansion.
Does anyone have experience with this? Or is it an Urban Legend? Has anyone placed drain holes in the flaps (ex, inboard spar, most aft corner)? Please describe.
