Jeff E. Has anyone asked for an exemption for High Performance Lancair's??? Charlie K.
I think that's a good idea. Probably not too late for this year, either. Last year I was on the East side of the Lake in my Lancair and simply told them who I was, where I was, and that I wanted the warbird arrival...they granted it to me without any problems. This is not an endorsement of the procedure, but because it's arrival I'm familiar with, I thought it was safer for me. IF you do call and get permission granted, be VERY WEARY of Warbird Island....some people get their right hand and left hand orbits confused <sigh> and if there are planes holding at the island it can get a bit sporting. Most of the time, however, it's a walk in the park...and I think the EAA would be wise in adopting this procedure for the fast glass.
FWIW,
Barry
PS If you go to OSH, be sure to check out Wendell Solesbee's IV-P...I don't know how you can get any better than the plane he and his wife Martha built!
