 Bryan,
 The dimensional stability makes this worth the effort.  You really don't want
compliant material sandwiched in a bolted joint.  I didn't install the
stainless sheet until the entire firewall layout was complete.  Everything was
mounted on spacers during construction.  Once everything firewall forward had
a home, the engine mount and all accessories were removed and the spacers
located in the fiberfrax.  see attached
